A wide range of information about the Church is now available on the internet.
Catholic sites locally might provide details of Mass times or the parish clergy
International and national sites are rich with resources:
- from church news to papal documents, and
- from academic texts to Vatican archives
You can even find Vatican Radio News in English, the Mass or Gregorian Chant

CATHOLIC DIOCESES

THE HOLY SEE

www.vatican.va is the official site of the Vatican.

CATOLICOS.ORG

This is a site with more than 11,000 links in Spanish and English.

CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ENGLAND AND WALES

www.tasc.ac.uk/cc is the Official site of the Bishops' Conference, run by the Catholic Media Office. It includes access to a monthly Briefing documentation service of Bishops' Conference in Britain; recent teaching on the Eucharist, One Bread One Body; and, papal encyclical Faith and Reason.

CAFOD

www.cafod.org.uk is the site of the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. It details of the Fair Deal for the Poor Millennium campaign - and CAFOD and Confirmation guidelines for catechists.

GREAT JUBILEE

This is the English version of the Vatican site for the Jubilee Year 2000.

CATHOLIC STUDENT COUNCIL

www.catholicstudentcouncil.mcmail.com gives news, events, and links to Catholic Societies around the country.

SALESIANS

www.salesians.org.uk is the site of the Silesiaris of Don Bosco religious order who work with young people ind the poor.

FARNBOROUGH ABBEY

www.farnboroughabbey.org is the site of St Michael's Benedictine Abbey, Farnborough. It includes history, information and a virtual tour.

ALAPADRE CATHOLIC CORNER

alapadre.net has hundreds of International Catholic links.

CHRISTUS REX

www.christusrex.org gives Catholic news, images and commentary from around the world.

MISNA

www.misna.org/eng/default.htm is the site of the Missionary Service News Agency. It gives news and information, particularly from the southern hemisphere.

• Blue cloud Abbey south Dakota have a "Pray with the Monks" page, (Morning and Evening Prayer to the rest of us). On that page is a link to their "Canticle collection.

• Charismatic Renewal - Web site of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in England.

• Christian Aid site with details of the Change the Rules campaign and report on how Britain's supermarkets profit from Third World poverty.

• Christian Millennium Domain - Christian churches' ecumenical site - established by the Archbishops' Millennium Advisory Group and open to all Christians to share their Millennium plans.

• Church Net UK directory of Web sites of all denominations and Churches Together sites.

• Cor Jesu Academy is a Catholic college preparatory school for young women, in St. Louis, Missouri. Check out the Youth Connections section of prayers, ideas and readings for young Christians.

• Iona Community - an ecumenical Christian community committed to seeking new ways of living the Gospel in today's world.

• Jubilee 2000 UK campaign site focusing on international action to address the problem of World Debt - originators of the Debt Cutters' Handbook.

• Liturgy of the Hours (The Divine Office) - this massive Universalis project is in use by Christians of many denominations.

• Pope Page - an American site with a wide range of information and links covering the history of the papacy, text of papal encyclicals (e.g. Sollicitudo rei Socialis - On Social Concerns) and writings of the Popes (e.g. Gaudium et Spes - The Church in the Modern World).

• RCNet - British Catholic Pages for England, Wales & Scotland

• Redemptorist Publications - (based in Hampshire) - an attractive updated site presenting a wide range of books, audio and software resources.

• Saints. A site which claims to list, with potted biographies, all known saints.

• Streetmap UK site - useful source of road maps e.g. to find a Church when on holiday.

• Taizé Community - hosts intercontinental meetings for young adults. The songs from Taizé are familiar in many languages on every continent. Also, check out the information on the Taizé UK site.

• Tear Fund site includes a section on campaigning against the Wicked Web of Debt.

• Traidcraft - the UK's leading independent fair trade organisation with details of campaigns such as the Café Fair Trade Venues Campaign. Products can be purchased on-line.

• Third Millennium & Jubilee Year 2000 official Web site for the Roman Catholic Church's preparation and celebration of the Jubilee in the USA.

• Westminster Cathedral's stylish and informative site.

• The Wire - E-zine (relatively jargon-free) version of an ecumenical periodical providing information about computer and communications applications to enable parishes to exploit these resources.

• YOU! Online - check out this cool youth E-zine, produced by Veritas Communication, Inc. If you are making plans for a 'gap year' after leaving school, you might be interested in working for them as a "Staff Associate" and gaining valuable media experience in the USA!
